A Royal Touch

On 29 December 2006, His Royal Highness Tuanku Al-Haj Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah, the Deputy Yang Di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia hosted a meeting over tea at the Istana Kedah, in Kuala Lumpur to IGD Group of Companies, headed by Dato' Dr Shamshdeen Yunus. Duli Tuanku showed keen interest in Islamic Gold Dinar (IGD) and its related products and services. Dato' Dr Shamshdeen Yunus explained about IGD and briefed on the achievements of IGD Group including the penetration of the HK and Jakarta markets. Duli Tuanku has indebt knowledge of Shari’ah side of the Gold Dinar and its impact on Riba. IGD Group has presented a number of projects that were welcomed by the Duli Tuanku. The projects included minting of the commemorative coin honoring His Royal Highness Tuanku Al-Haj Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah for the Tuanku’s contribution to Malaysia and the state of Kedah for 50 years! The commemorative coin will be minted by IGD Group and launched ahead of the celebration day of Duli Tuanku's Golden Jubilee, in the middle of 2008. Issues such as payment of Zakat and dowry with IGD and introducing IGD to His Majesty’s subjects, Kedahans, as a means of saving and investment were also well accepted by the Duli Tuanku and, inshaAllah, there will be a new Wakala in Kedah opened soon. The Wakala will be lead by Tuanku Puteri who is eloquent about IGD and the intrinsic value of gold and even related her hands on experience in coin collections.
